Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains how Horsebox For Rent (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit horseboxforrent.co.uk, contact us or hire a horsebox. We are responsible for your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

  • Enquiry and booking details – your name, email address, phone number, hire dates, collection details and any message you send us through the website, by phone, email or WhatsApp.
  • Driver details – when you hire, we need licence and insurance information for the named drivers so the hire can go ahead safely and legally.
  • Comments – if you comment on an article, the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address to help prevent spam.
  • Website data – technical information such as your browser, device and pages visited, collected through cookies (see below).

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange your hire (necessary to perform a contract with you, or take steps before one).
  • To check driver eligibility and arrange insurance cover (contract and legal obligation).
  • To keep records for accounting and legal purposes (legal obligation).
  • To keep our website secure and working well (legitimate interests).
  • To send you occasional news or offers, only if you have agreed (consent – you can unsubscribe at any time).

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We share it only where needed to provide our service: with insurers, payment providers, IT, email and website hosting providers, and professional advisers, or where the law requires us to. These organisations may only use your data to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a hire are kept for up to 12 months. Hire and financial records are kept for as long as the law requires, normally six years. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work. Optional cookies, such as analytics, are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies in your browser.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below – we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
